Mike Garvey is a lawyer and partner with the firm Garvey & Garvey, LLP in Mississauga.
Mike has always had an affinity for water resources. His undergraduate degree was through the Geography – Resource Conservation program at The University of Western Ontario, and his fourth year thesis was a case study in water management. On the golf course, Mike also has the uncanny ability to find the water.
A graduate of Queen’s University Law School, Mike was called to the Ontario bar in 1990. He has been with Garvey & Garvey, LLP since 1998 and has a practice that spans several areas, including the land-related areas of real estate conveyancing and municipal/land use planning law. Mike spent nine years practicing with a Toronto Bay Street law firm, most of those as a partner, prior to deciding to work closer to home.
A resident of Oakville, Mike is a father of four teenagers, and has been actively involved with his kids’ sporting activities over the past many years.
Mike currently sits on the Boards of Directors for two local charitable organizations, The Ian Anderson Resource Centre and The Margaret Anderson Foundation. He has also been active in the past with fundraising efforts in connection with The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
Mike sees the opportunity to scale Kilimanjaro with the Climb for Life as a way to combine fundraising efforts with witnessing the results and achievements of those efforts!
