Tom Kindred is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for SaskPower. He completed the Executive Advanced Management Degree at Harvard Business School in Boston and has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electronic Information Systems Engineering from the University of Regina. He is the Vice Chairman of the Canadian Electrical Association Technology Council and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
Tom has many hobbies ranging from antique sports cars to car racing, skiing, hiking and RC planes. Tom turns 50 years old this year and is celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary with his best friend and partner Patti. He has two boys – Connor and Daniel who are working hard at keeping him young.
Patti is the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan’s Director of
Education and Compliance. She graduated from the University of Regina with Bachelor of Applied
Science in Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering (Cooperative Work Studies Designation), and
Certificates of Administration and Continuing Education.
Patti is an active volunteer within the community and is always available to coach and mentor young
women exploring careers in science and technology, especially engineering. Her many hobbies
include amateur art and photography, coaching her son’s soccer teams, driving their old sports cars,
grappling with recreational sports, speed reading in 10 minute slots, killing garden flowers, and
exposing her husband Tom and their kids to cooking from around the world. Patti’s support for
WaterCan’s work is inspired by her family’s adoption of their young son from Ethiopia.
