Tom Edge

Tom EdgeTom Edge currently works as an environmental scientist at Environment Canada. Being part of a project that aims to provide improved water and sanitation in east African communities holds particular significance for Tom as his present research focuses on waterborne pathogen threats to source waters used for drinking, recreation, and food production. Having received his Ph.D. in environmental microbiology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Tom has worked as a scientific advisor on Health Canada’s Guidelines for Canadian Recreational Water Quality as well as served as a member of Canadian United Nations delegations negotiating the Biosafety Protocol for genetically modified organisms. In addition to his varied work experiences, Tom has contributed to many publications.
