Tom Baines Junior High School -- Calgary, Alberta - $1,343
They've done it again! For the FOURTH consecutive year, students at Tom
Baines, supported by teacher Suzanne Vandenberg, have been successful
at raising funds to support WaterCan's work.

Jarvis Collegiate Institute -- Toronto, Ontario - $2,000.00
On attending a conference on War Affected Children, several senior students
were appalled to learn about the number of people in the world who do
not have access to clean drinking water. After many bake sales, loose
change drives and a student-run "Springfest" funds were raised
to support WaterCan's work in Africa. A hearty thanks to the students
and staff of Jarvis C.I.!

Haliburton Highlands Secondary School -- Haliburton, Ontario - $1,000
The school's Student Council organized a coin drive for three weeks to
raise funds for WaterCan. Part of the proceeds from a Talent Show were
also donated. Brilliant

Eastwood Collegiate Institute -- Kitchener, Ontario - $520.00
A benefit concert in support of WaterCan was held at Eastwood Collegiate Institute
in Kitchener, Ontario, on June 11, 2004. The event was sponsored by the Impact
Club and was organized and hosted by Ryan Coulter and Bryan Paterson, students
in the Eastwood Integrated Arts Program. The audience enjoyed a variety of entertainment
that included dancers, singers, a dramatic monologue, and a six piece band. Plans
are underway for a second benefit concert to be held in conjunction with World

Arlington Middle School -- Toronto, Ontario - $1,000.00
In early 2004, Adam Choleva a grade eight student attending Arlington Middle School
in Toronto learned in class how important water is, especially in developing
countries, and felt compelled to do something about it. After searching the internet,
he found WaterCan and decided to help fundraise for the organization to help
bring clean water to African communities. Adam organized a sporting fundrasing
event, sought donations from the community, and even decided to donate a portion

Lakefield District Secondary School -- Lakefield, Ontario - $850.00
For the second year, students and teacher Jeff Bergeron organized their annual
coin drive around March 22, the annual date for World Water Day. A coffee house/arts
night organized by students helped to raise awareness about water needs and
human rights.

Wellington Secondary School -- Nanaimo, British Columbia - $1000.00
The "Global Watch Club" worked hard to reach their fundraising goal
of $1000.00 to support WaterCan's work in Uganda.

The school’s Student Association for Global Awareness, drama class and
music programme came together to organize an evening of entertainment and consciousness
raising.

Lakefield District Secondary School: (Total raised - $1,600.00)
Teacher Jeff Bergeron and his students worked very hard to raise this generous
donation to WaterCan.

Tom Baines Junior High School (Total raised - $3,542.00)
The students raised this money to go towards funding a water point in Uganda,
and hope to raise money every year.

Riverview Rural High School - Coxheath, Nova Scotia - $1,245.60
In April of 2002, the students of Ms. McNamara's grade 12 Global History class
read the story of Ryan's Well. This was the start of Riverview's "well
phenomenon". The other history classes jumped at the chance to help with
fundraising. With the combined efforts of the school's students and staff,
$1,245.60 was raised.

Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High School - Antigonish, Nova Scotia - $1,020.55
Grade 12 students in Mr. Skinner's Global Geography class decided to take action
when they learned about the need for clean, safe water in developing countries.
Students raised funds with projects like a concert, the annual spring bowl
ground hockey tournament, a pizza sale, and a wishing well.

Westside Community Church Youth Sunday School – Hartselle, Alabama, USA
- $1,109.15
One of the church’s Sunday School teachers, Mrs. Tammy Eddy, came across
information about WaterCan and shared it with her class of Jr. High students.
The class took on WaterCan as a project and raised $700 US.
