Municipalities
Our Municipal Outreach Program aims to engage municipal councils and citizens across Canada on key global water issues.
Over 60 Canadian municipalities have participated in WaterCan's Municipal Partnership Program, where municipalities distributed WaterCan flyers through consumers' water bills. Over 5 million flyers were distributed across Canada between 1992 and 2001. The contributions raised in each municipality were linked to a specific clean water and sanitation project.
WaterCan is examining new ways in which it can work with municipalities to educate Canadians about the need for clean, safe water in the developing world.
