Children Get Creative – WaterCan’s Children’s Art Contest In March 2003, WaterCan held a Children’s Art Contest to run concurrently with the Art For Water Exhibit and Sale. The contest was open to Ottawa-area students in Grades 5 to 8. Several of the artists involved in the Exhibit and Sale served as judges for the children’s submissions, which were displayed at the Museum of Nature. The winning young artists and their parents were invited to attend a special reception at the Museum, where they received their prizes. The theme of the work of art was, of course, water! The importance of clean, safe water, in Canada, and in developing countries, was highlighted, as well as how Canadians can help people in developing countries. Watercan thanks the teachers and students from Chelsea Elementary School in Chelsea, Quebec and A. Lorne Cassidy Elementary School in Stittsville, Ontario for their participation
