WaterCan calls on all Canadian youth aged 12 to 18 to promote the importance of water by entering the "Water: In Focus" national youth photojournalism contest.

Water...it is in us, we need it, we drink it, we play in it, we wash in it....Water is amazing and we want you to show us and tell us why you think so!

In Canada, we are so fortunate to have a huge abundance of fresh water. Often, we take this for granted, never really thinking about how truly amazing, life-giving and necessary water is. Help us change the way Canadians think about water.

Thinking about water differently is the first step toward valuing, respecting and equitably distributing our water resources in Canada and around the world.

How YOU can take part:
It’s easy! First, take an inspiring photo of water. It can be funny, edgy, powerful, creative or critical. Just make sure it will grab attention and get people talking about how amazing water is. Then, write a bit about why this photo inspires you, or tell us the "story behind the photo"..

There are two categories:
Junior: Youth aged 12-15
Senior: Youth aged 16-18

Contest closes on February 15th:
