Art For Water

What happens when twenty artists and a water bottling company get together? They create WaterCan’s first Art Exhibit and Sale. The purpose of this undertaking is really two-fold: to support WaterCan’s work overseas and to educate Canadians about the importance and preciousness of water.

Mrs. Carol Reesor, WaterCan volunteer and curator of this exhibit, invited the participation of twenty distinguished Canadian artists, who have created original works of art – all on the theme of water – specifically for this Exhibit and Sale.

Members of the Board of Advisors include Mela Constantinidi, Victoria Henry, Hon. David Kilgour, Sen. Laurier LaPierre, Glenn McInnes and Judith Manley.

The participating artists are John Barkley, Christopher Broadhurst, Lori Brethour Coulter, Philip Craig, Agneta Dolman, Donna Eichel, Pat Fyfe, Barbara Gamble, Adrian Göllner, Jerry Grey, Gayle Hermick, Deborah Margo, Maurice Martin, Rebecca Mason, Reid McLachlan, Ron Noganosh, Mary Pfaff, Michael Schreier, Jeffrey Thomas and Eric Walker. Iroquois Water Limited – a water bottling company located in Cornwall, Ontario – sponsored the artists for this venture.

The Art Exhibit was on display in Ottawa at the Canadian Museum of Nature, from Monday, March 3 to Friday, March 7, 2003.

The artwork continues to be for sale. To make a purchase or to arrange a viewing, please contact Valérie Broadfoot, WaterCan’s Event Coordinator, at vbroadfoot@watercan.com or (613) 230-5182 (toll free: 1-800-370-5658).
