About the Program

What is a WaterCan chapter?

A WaterCan chapter is a group of university students who organize public engagement and/or fundraising events on behalf of our organization.  WaterCan chapters are self-sustaining, self-regulating and self-actualizing bodies, with coordination support from the WaterCan national office.

Purpose

The purpose of the WaterCan University Student Chapter program is to engage University students in discussions and activities related to clean water and sanitation issues in developing countries.

Objectives

  • To highlight the need for clean water and sanitation in the developing world within Canadian Universities

  • To provide resources and support to WaterCan@Universities student-run chapters to engage students and faculty on global water and sanitation issues

  • To organize fundraising and awareness-raising events for WaterCan's community-based water and sanitation projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania

Mission : To inspire today's student enthusiasts to become tomorrow's global leaders.

What are the benefits for Students?

WaterCan@Universities Student Chapter Program allows students:
