17th Annual WaterCan Embassy Dinner: Tasting the world for a global cause
On Friday, May 6th Ottawa's leaders, media, food lovers, and diplomatic representatives came together for a night of wonderful food and entertainment for an important cause: clean water.
More than 600 guests attended, sampling food from around the globe at the Buffet of Nations, served by 39 embassies and high commissions. The highlight of the evening was the Parade of Nations, where samba drums met Swiss cowbells in a visual and musical tribute to international cooperation. Over 200 Silent and Live Auction items featured unique food, art, and services from across Canada and the world. Among special presentations, Honourary President Margaret Trudeau addressed the crowd, and added a stunning decorative scarf to the auction. The event is WaterCan’s primary fundraising event of the year, raising over $120,000.
